NBA 2K23 New Classic Players


Find out the new players added to Kobe Era


NBA 2K23 has added 13 new classic players to the classic roster of the Kobe Era (2002). 2K Sports' retro roster effort this year is outstanding. Getting the player rights of each player is essential to add both the dna and a real face scan to the official roster update. The new classic players are:


1. Chris Owens (Memphis Grizzlies) - Kobe Era (2002)


Haywood Christopher Owens aka Chris Ownens is a former NBA  player, he played as PF for Memphis Grizzlies. In 2022 NBA Draft, Owens was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2nd round with the 47th pick but the franchise of Wisconsin traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies for a second rounder in the following year´s draft.


Owens  played just one game in the NBA in the 2002-2023 NBA season, he played only one game where he played 6 minutes and scored 4 points. 2K has added him to the roster, since Kobe Era is based on the 2022 season . On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Chris Owns has an Overall 2K Rating of 71 with a Scrappy Wing Build.


2. Olumide Oyedeji (Orlando Magic) - Kobe Era (2002)


Olumide Oyedeji is a former NBA player who born in Nigeria. He played in the NBA for three seasons, since 2000 until 2003 with two different teams, Seattle SuperSonics and Orlando Magic. During these three seasons, Oyedeji played 93 games with 1.4 points per game as career average.



Oyedeji was drafted with the 42nd pick in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics where he played two seasons. On July 21, 2022, he signed as a free agent with the Orlando Magic where he played 26 games. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Olumide Oyedeji has an Overall 2K Rating of 71 with a Paint Protector Build.


3. Bostjan Nachbar (Houston Rockets) - Kobe Era (2002)


Bostjan Nachbar is a slovenian former NBA player who played for seven seasons. In the 2002 NBA Draft, Nachbar was selected for the Rockets as the 15th overall pick. In his first season he played 14 games and he averaged 2 points per game. In 2004, he was trade from Houston Rockets to New Orleans Hornets. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Bostjan Nachbar has an Overall 2K Rating of 71 with a 3PT Shooter Build.


4. Eric Montross (Toronto Raptors) - Kobe Era (2002)


Eric Scott Montross aka "Big Gritts" is a former NBA player who played for eight seasons with six different teams: Celtics, Mavericks, Nets, 76ers, Pistons and Raptors. He was selected by the Boston Celtics in the 1994 NBA Draft with the 9th overall pick and he was selected to the 1995 Rookie All-Star Game.

In his last NBA season (2001-2002), he played for the Toronto Raptors. He played 12 games and averaged 1.08 points per game.  On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Eric Montross has an Overall 2K Rating of 71 with a Paint Protector Build.



5. Jerome Moiso (New Orleans Hornets) - Kobe Era (2002)


Jerome Moiso is a french former NBA player who played fo six seasons with six different NBA teams. Moiso was selected in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics with the 11th overall pick. In 2001 the Charlotte Hornets traded forward Derrick Coleman to the Philadelphia 76ers in a three-team trade.

Hornets got forwards George Lynch, Robert Taylor and Jerome Moiso from 76ers and Chris Porter from Warriors. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Jerome Moiso has an Overall 2K Rating of 74 with a Glass Cleaner Build.


6. Reggie Evans (Seattle SuperSonics) - Kobe Era (2002)


Reginald Jamaal Evans aka Reggie Evans is a former NBA player who played for fourteen years with seven different teams. Reggie Evans signed in 2002 with the Seattle SuperSonics as free agent.

In 2002-2003 NBA season, Evans played 67 games and he averaged 3.16 points per game. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Reggie Evans has an Overall 2K Rating of 74 with a Glass Cleaner Build.


7. Ansu Sesay (Seattle SuperSonics) - Kobe Era (2002)


Ansu Sesay was selected by the Mavericks in the 1998 NBA Draft with the 30th overall pick. But he tore his ACB during the training camp.

In 2002-2003 NBA season, Ansu played for the Seattle SuperSonics 9 games and he averaged 6.44 points per game. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Ansu Seasy has an Overall 2K Rating of 71 with a Perimeter Defender Build.



8. Vladimir Radmanovic (Seattle SuperSonics) - Kobe Era (2002)


Vladimir Radmanovic is a serbian former NBA player who was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2001 NBA draft as the12th pick. He played for fourteen seasons during his NBA career.

In 2001-2002 NBA season, Radmanovic played 61 games and averaged 6.67 points per game. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Ansu Seasy has an Overall 2K Rating of 77 with a Stretch Five Build.


9. Ruben Patterson (Portland Trail Blazers) - Kobe Era (2002)


Ruben Patterson is a former NBA player who played for ten seasons. Patterson was selected in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers as the 31st pick.

Patterson signed with the Portland Trail Blazers as free agent. He became as a great defensive player and good scorer. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Ruben Patterson has an Overall 2K Rating of 79 with a Hybrid Defender Build.

10. Kenny Thomas (Houston Rockets) - Kobe Era (2002)


Kenneth Cornelius Thomas aka Kenny Thomas is a former NBA player who played eleven NBA seasons. Thomas was selected by the Houston Rockets in the 1999 NBA Draft as the 22nd pick.

In 2001-2002 NBA season, Thomas played 72 games and he averaged 14 points per game. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Kenny Thomas has an Overall 2K Rating of 78 with a Glass Cleaner Build.



11. Chucky Atkins (Detroit Pistons) - Kobe Era (2002)


Kenneth Lavon Atkins aka "Chucky" Atkins is a former NBA player who played for twelve seasons with nine different teams. Atkins started in 1999 with the Magic and after his first season, he played for the Detroit Pistons.

In 2001-2002 NBA season, Atkins played 81 games and he averaged about 12 points per game. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Chucky Atkins has an Overall 2K Rating of 75 with a Shooter Build.



12. Ron Artest (Indiana Pacers) - Kobe Era (2002)


Ron Artest is a former NBA player who played for twenty one seasons. Artest was selected in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls with the 16th pick.

The Bulls traded him and other three players: Brad Miller, Ron Mercer and Kevin Ollie to the Indiana Pacers for Jalen Rose, Travis Best and Norman Richardson in the 2001-2002 season.

13. Jamaal Magloire (New Orleans Hornets) - Kobe Era (2002)


Jamaal Magloire is a former NBA player how played thrirteen seasons. He was selected in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets as the 19th pick. He averaged 6.5 points per game. On NBA 2K23, the Retro Version of Jamaal Magloire has an Overall 2K Rating of 81 with a Defensive Anchor Build.
