Introduction of Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC)
With the upcoming release of Patch Update 3.0 for NBA 2K25 on Steam, scheduled shortly before the start of Season 3 on November 29, Visual Concepts is rolling out Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). EAC is a cutting-edge service renowned for its ability to combat cheating tools and unauthorized third-party software, evolving continually to counter new cheating methods. This addition is part of our ongoing efforts to uphold the integrity of competitive gameplay in NBA 2K.
Enhancing Game Security
EAC will operate alongside our existing measures, which include behavior-based bans, anti-tampering protections, and an in-game reporting system. Our aim is to detect and minimize cheating, ensuring a fair and secure gaming experience for all players.
Preparing for Update 3.0
To ensure a seamless transition to the new system, we recommend the following steps before installing Update 3.0, which will also install EAC if it is not already present on your system:
Update Windows: Make sure your PC is running the latest version of Windows to maintain compatibility.
Update Drivers: Ensure your graphics card and other essential drivers are up to date.
Update or Disable Hardware Control Software: Update your hardware control software (e.g., RGB lighting) to the latest version to resolve potential security vulnerabilities. If a compatible version is not available, consider disabling it.
Post-Installation
Once installed, you may see a message indicating that EAC is initializing each time you start NBA 2K25. If you encounter any issues related to EAC, such as error codes or trouble launching the game, please report them through 2k Support or our official Discord feedback channels.
Support for Visual Mods
It's also important to note that visual mods are theoretically still supported by 2K, as they have been since the game's release. This continues our tradition of encouraging creativity within the community while maintaining a secure gaming environment.
